SOUND ENGINEERING

A live sound engineer is responsible for the set up and operation of sound amplification systems at theatres, sports arenas, music concerts and other live events. Live sound engineers play a crucial role in contributing to the success of a live music concert.

Course Overview

Will involve hands on experience in a studio environment where the participants will learn how to use the sound desk, P.A system and different microphones. Part of the course and the end product will be creating and running the showcasing event. This will involve publicity, booking bands and DJs and sound engineering at the event.

Equipment you will learn to use in this course:

Speakers, Cables (and multicore), Mixing Desk, Amplifier, Crossover, Limiter, Microphones, DI boxes.

Skills you will develop

Problem solving, listening, technical skills, planning, event management.

Participant will develop their listening and technical skills by sound checking and mixing live bands. They will learn how to solve problems that arise, quickly and systematically.

They will develop their event management and planning skills throughout the course, learning about bands specific equipment requirements and how to promote an event.
