DJ COURSE
A club DJ is a person who selects and mixes dance music to an audience. A good DJ will have a good understanding of different music styles and mixing techniques but will also know how to interact with the crowd and adapt the music to what the audience wants.
Course Overview
Participants will develop DJ performance techniques through preparation of demonstrations and performance to a live audience. The mayority of the learning will be practical and hands on using a variety of mixing styles and techniques.
Equipment you will learn to use in this course:
Turntables, CD decks, Serato Scratch, Laptops, headphones and monitors, PA system and DJ mixer.
Skills you will develop
Beatmatching, mixing techniques, song structure, phrasing, set-building, equipment set-up, use of EQ and performance techniques.
Mixing techniques developed: cutting, fading, spin back, use of EQ.
Participants will develop their performance techniques by performing their sets to the other students, with a final performance to a live audience.
Participants will develop their understanding of different music genres and learn about track selection and set building.
