Cheyenne, otherwise known as Claire Marshall has been djing in association with the electronic music scene for over 10 years. After 1999 Through networking with a number of individuals in the Manchester area, Cheyenne became involved with the Isobar/North venue and took pride in bringing the darker, broodier side of Minimal trance and tech house to those who needed a chill out from North's main room maddness! Progressing from this, Cheyenne moved out to Canada in 2000 to sample the cultural diversity that North America has to offer. It was here that the next step in the musical evolution took place. Cheyenne hooked up with the 'Uber' & 'Soundboy' collectives in the Greater Toronto area and spun on a regular basis at their project events all over Southern Ontario, including London, Ontario where she played alongside Techno legend John Acquaviva. It was this North America trip which left a lasting impression on Cheyenne. It was through contact with the Paxahau crew based in Detroit that Cheyenne was able to secure a set at Motor Detroit along side Carl Cox for his 'Global' tour. Regular visits to Detroit progressed into a love affair with the city and a complete immersion in the music, the people and the politics. Regular appearances on Detroit internet radio stations secured Cheyenne as a reputable up and coming name in the midwest. On the move back accross the pond, Cheyenne became more involved with the production of Detroit influenced Techno and anything which emerged from the Motor City. Taking up residencies at the 'Soundslike' night in Chester, Guest slots at Chibuku Liverpool and now a staple at some of the best underground parties on the Welsh underground scene with Detroit influenced techno and atmospheric melodic, deep tech... Cheyenne is also a producer of music for historical documentaries and is an archaeological consultant in the reproduction of ancient prehistoric musical instruments. |
